For legacy publishing (0.8.9) if there's a demand, I'll get it working, but I doubt it will be there on the day of launch. I'll start up a thread with a pole after launch to see how many people are having problems with the upgrade. Back to the syntax mines...

I'm going to go ahead and start the poll. I need legacy publishing to finish my current project. The Upgrade looks awesome but I'm screwed right now as my Screen is not big enough right now to use it. I'm sure there are others of you who would like to have 0.8.9 back at least to finish up what your working on now.

Are you using a hackintosh? All intel macs should have a high enough resolution screen to work. I've used it on a 11 MacBook air and it's one of the smallest screens out there.
Do you have an HDTV, you could hook up to that

Yes I Know everyone hates Hackintoshs. Sorry it Offends you but It's all I can do at this moment. And no the external display doesn't work.

    Bump.

Sorry for the bump just want to make sure people coming on for the evening see the poll.

Gotta admit I'm a little surprised with all the 0.9.0 broke my game posts there would be a little more discussion here.

it doesn't offend me, but it may be part of the problem why things are acting strange. Do you have any friends who have a macbook you could borrow for 20 minutes to install GS on and test your game?

Doesnt offend me either, first time i ever tried osx was on a hackintosh. But when it comes down to it, no hackintosh will never be the same as a real mac. You can get pretty dam close, but itll always be buggy in some part of it.

Not really My friends with mac are not Intel macs. I am looking into that route.
I found a way to force a different resolution but for some reason now it wont let me publish with the changed resolution. but when i go back to normal it comes back to working. Unfortunately for me the problem is definitely on my end. as GS works fine as long as i can get to the buttons. It just really bites as i had maybe a week left before i was ready to submit to apple. It's not like i just started screwing with making a game. I have it finished and ppl testing it right now.

I'm not sure it is a viable option for them to do that. I think your best bet is to connect your hackintosh netbook to an external monitor to get that extra pixel height. Ultimately they can't really support and test on non standard resolutions and setting up legacy support for 0.8.9 for very few people would be a pain in the ass. I still use a monster-hackintosh machine for video editing at work and if the system is stable then it works very well.

I'm not sure it will be that big of a pain. They had the same going before the update just opposite with a few people running 0.9.0 and the rest om 0.8.9. I realize they cannot test on non-standard resolution but it's pretty shitty that I have paid for a service that was working and now doesn't. Same for the people who paid and now cannot get 10.5 support. They should keep legacy an option through the end of the year for those few customers who cannot come up to the standard they support at this time.

Support should be given for 0.8.9 to allow people to finish their apps.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who feels this way

Well I have been away for a couple days but it still looks like many are still having some issues with the update. I must ask again Please make 0.8.9 run for a month so we can finish up our projects.

    tenrdrmer,

while many people are having problems with .9, I don't think many people are looking to go back to .8.9. The improved loading times, iAds/URL Links and performance improvements are enough draw to keep them at .9.

Plus, most of the problems come with publishing, which is on the GS Server side as well, they'd be having the same problems in .8.9
