timer question

can somebody help me im trying to make an actor called spawner and i want it to spawn out a series of actors for 20 seconds than then pause for 10 sec then continue to spawn actor? ive tried diffrent ways and still nothing
one way i tried was i added a timer actor after 10 sec spawn the actors for 20 sec every 20 sec and my spawner actor just does random actions. any help would be great thanks
