Question about app name of device vs. App Store

I just noticed this game: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/crazy-snowboard/id294919686?mt=8

has a full name on the App Store, and a truncated name on the device. On my phone it just says "Snowboard" and fits nicely while on the App Store the full name is "Crazy Snowboard", which of course wouldn't fit in the 13 character limit of the device.

How did they do that?

    Easy!

The GameSalad stuff should be your truncated name.

Anything that appears in iTunes, use the full name.

    That should be it!

So they will not flag for a miss match?

    Well, no.

Attack of the Kraken was called 'Kraken' in the main game file, and the name of the app uploaded was 'Kraken'.

In iTunes it was always 'Attack of the Kraken'.

Same with Gravitrixmas - that's just 'Gravitrixmas' for the app name and file submitted to Apple. In iTunes it's 'A Merry Gravitrixmas!'.

As long as it's not 'Flobojo' as the truncated name and 'This has nothing to do with anything' on iTunes, I think you'll be ok ;)
