Yes I was interested in this as well. Getting for example the use of this with a high score list. Enter your name then save it and you can display it in the high scores.
Jel I don't think this is possible right now. No text entry for the player is possible I don't think. But at least it has been brought up as its a smashing idea.
it would be pretty easy to create your own keyboard, just tedious with all the buttons. My question would be how to add each letter to the previous one.
it would be nice if there was a rule inside gamesalad that opened up iphone's own keyboard. i think that 99% of developers dont need a custom keyboard, just a working one. i prefer using my production time on other more important things than creating a virtual keyboard =/
