Drip Splash Effect? Up for the challenge?

Hey,

I have a water droplet actor that falls from the roof every 2secs and gets destroyed when it hits the floor. Could someone make a quick demo showing how to make a splash effect for when It hits the floor? I was planning on using particles but I can't figure it out... Any help would be appreciated.

Note: the droplet is 2D and viewed from the side.

I used animation. Check out "Coin Fountain"

I was going to use an animation but I think if I use particles it will look more random/natural. Thanks for the suggestion though.
