Difference between dpi ?

Hello , i was just wondering what is the difference between 72 dpi and 300dpi , i dunno which one to choose ?
I know that an iphone 4 has a res of 960X640 to enable resolution independence , but will a higher res that 960x640 work the same ?

All your images have to be saved at 72 dpi for any resolution. That's the supported dpi for GS and I think iOS devices in general.

Other dpi may result in blurred images.

It doesn't matter whether you're making a 32x56 button or a 640x1440 background, the dpi has to always be 72.

If you're using photoshop when you save for web and devices it automatically change the dpi to 72 otherwise you can change it by hitting Cmd+Alt+i and a window will appear where you can change the dpi.

Hey guys thanks for the help .

What do you mean by make sure all images are even numbers when divided by 2 , TB ? Like the size ?

    FYI:
72 dpi is your screen resolution (kinda)
300 dpi is common for print (ink)
150 dpi is for most printers

Divided by 2 should give an even number:
    so 4 8 12 16 etc.
