250-500 animations at the same time

Hello,

I want to run around 250-500 animations at the same time. Each animation has 37 frames. I tried with 20 animations but my iphone crashed :P So is it even possible? Mabye lowering on frames and fps helps?

    In addition to the amount of frames, image size is important too. BOT has lots of animation going on, but it's usually 128x128 pixels per frame with 16 frames of animation.

    I can make lots of copies of the same enemy, without a big drop in performance. So... 20 actors with 16 frames of animation is possible... if artwork is being reused.

    In my game I have many full-screen animations, and with some tests I made, you can safely run up to 40 frames (480x320) in one scene, but you have to remember also about Game Engine RAM and Sounds RAM.
    It works even on old iPhones.

    I'm having trouble sizing my images to the scene.
    But i've got about 10 frames for each character (per movement)

    Will probably run on the new ipad2, too many animation really clogs the mem usage and processing time.
