GS Viewer question

Hey guys I can't get the viewer to work with my iPod touch! What I need to know is do both my iMac and my iPod touch have to be on the same WIRELESS network? I mean my iMac is connected via ethernet, not WiFi. Must both run on WiFi?

I think as long as they are on the same network its fine.one can be wired to the wifi router and the other can connect overwifi.

Maybe i'm wrong but I think im not

oh man...I can't get my iMac to connect to my WiFi...been fine with Ethernet so I didn't bother with it. Took me hours just to set up my "modem router + wireless router" to work because both are routers so it's a little confusing I know but I managed to make them work as all my PC's and devices are able to connect except my iMac.

Anyone mind doing a test to see if both have to be on WiFi or not?

If you have the viewer just try it. I'm not sure why you need someone to test this for you.

I believe though it works as long as they are connected to the same network.

Also if you mac has wifi you can create a direct wifi connection between the imac and device. I have done that before and it seemed to work ok.

Yes I know I should he able to do that but I can't because my iMac doesn't detect my wifi and I've been having this problem since a year ago but never bothered me as I can still use Ethernet but now I need to know if both needed to be on wifi or not. If yes then i'll might send it in for repair which I don't really like to because I need my Mac to do other work. My other alternative is to get a USB dongle.

So can anyone reconfirm this as I've been trying it for 3 days still can't get GS creator to detect my iPod. Cheers!

Ok I've solved it. Apparently, I can only use GSviewer if BOTH my iMac and iPod are on WiFi, NOT ethernet!
Maybe it is just my weird problem, but in case anyone can't get your Mac to detect your device, try putting them both on WiFi!

    Cheeers!

I've been able to use GS Viewer on two separate wireless networks, as long as they eventually connect to the router that plugs into the wall. So I doubt it should be too much of an issue.
