Yes, I know I shouldn't post unrelated GS stuff here, but this is urgent.

Try restoring the iPod to a new os. Do not restore from backup

I'd rather not lose all of my data for a chance of it working.

I still do not wish to lose all of the data on my device.

You can still sync it.....just save all of it somewhere.

When stuff like this happens, restoring is usually your only option, you can try restoring from backup, but it might not work.

Decided to restore it, but I'm having difficulties. The bar goes up to a certain percentage, then it just stops. I'm doing a second restore attempt, but now the bar stops at an even lower percentage.

I got it to restore to factory settings successfully. Guess what? IT DIDN'T WORK! >:O

Xcode still only recognizes it as an iOS device. Lost all of my data for nothing. Going to go restore from backup now. -_-

    reinstall iTunes.

take it to an apple store, if you had so much difficulty doing a normal restore, and still have trouble getting it recognized, there might be a hardware issue.

Before I go to the trouble of taking my device to the store, I'll try reinstalling Xcode and iTunes.

Reinstalling both Xcode and iTunes didn't work. Xcode still doesn't recognize my iPod, though iTunes does.

I'm assuming you opened up the Xcode organizer and hit the use for development button on the device?
  • 11clock11clock Member Posts: 450
I haven't. Is that the problem, perhaps?

EDIT: I found the organizer and clicked Use for Development on my device. Xcode still doesn't allow me to test my apps on it and calls it an iOS device.

EDIT2: Wait...Now it sees my device. I can't believe I forgot to do that step! Last time it did it automatically. Thanks!

Now to get GameSalad Viewer to work with Resolution Independence checked...
