I decided to put together a template that includes some of the basic elements of Air Penguin. This template features tilt controls and animation sequences that will give you a basic understanding of how to create a game like Air Penguin.
I am actually using this basic mechanic in a few levels of a game I am currently working on! Well..at least i hope to be working on! Haha.
I included a button to jump instead of the forward tilt control because gamesalad seems to have some wonky tilt controls, or I just have bad math skills.
Either way this control mechanism actually seems to work a bit easier overall.
But I also included a forward tilt to jump version as well!
Either way this is a great starting point and should be the basis of a great game!

I will have a video posted up later tonight! I need to reinstall camtasia on my older macbook.

The video is a bit choppy the frame rate is actually smooth as butter, Even on a 2nd gen ipod touch!
But if I do put much more time into it I'll have to raise the price up a bit.
It was goodtimes though. The tilt is pretty responsive!

You may have noticed my template prices have been steadily decreasing over the last few months partly because I want to help out, but also because I have been putting last minute repairs together and buying baby supplies and an extra 10 or 20 goes a long way!!
But if you are interested in graphic work of any kind, I may have a few weeks where I drop off the face of the earth after my son is born. Though after I work out a schedule and solid routine I should be back full swing and ready to help out.
I am a web designer by day, but as it goes with most professions I do not have much time or patience to put together a game graphics portfolio for myself. I do plan on having one live shortly.
But by all means send me any ideas you have or questions about work, and I will let you know my thoughts.
