"castle crashers" style game?

would this be possible within Gamesalad? If so, how would I set up the 3d type movement. and different "planes"

    Its possible. In fact I've looked in to it, as I intend to do something similar.

    How could I do this with many enemy's being spawned and the player and enemies move? Does any one have a demo available?

    you wouldnt want to spawn them you would want to recycle the enemies and the bullets

    To be honest, making a beat-em-up sounds incredibly hard to make with gamesalad.

    Not that it's impossible, but if you want to add combos and ennemi AI you're gonna have a hard time.

    For the planes, GameSalad doesn't allow to use collision mask on actors, so I have no idea if it's possible.

    It will be difficult. I tried. It is possible, but it won't be smooth or play good at all.
