I have done a shake to make a switch in GS and the biggest problem was finding the tolerances of the movement needed to register shakes. This needs some playing with. I have it now so you can switch a device with a shake left or right to get different options. It just took some playing with.
I have an idea, but it might not work. You can make it so it detects even the slightest motion of the accelerometer, but you tell the player to shake the device, but the accelerometer will detect it...
