No. Also, no memory leak, and, supposedly a debugger of some sort.

Memory leak is very exciting ;) But I mean like features mentioned in the road map?

I think it shuld bring all this stuff:

    GameCenter leader boards
    Image flipping
    Memory leak fixes
    Save format stability
    Text input with iOS keyboard
    GameSalad Arcade 2.0
    Project Masala

One thing I'm really hoping for is just improved loading times on device! Even if it were just a 1 second improvement... every little bit helps.

Hey Mark, have you published anything with GS since your Going Nutty game last year? The load times are much, much better than they were back then.
  • RedlerTechRedlerTech Member Posts: 1,583
Ya GS focus on getting rid of loading in general please?

This is all great news. And i'm FINALLY going to release a game.

My GS Crashed like 20 times the other day... was trying to turn graphics visibility off.

I'm sooo excited' I just can't hide it! hehehe

This is the 'debugger' type thing I spoke of - it certainly helps you isolate problems and try new stuff out :)

Image flipping I haven't seen in the pre-release builds. I imagine it will follow shortly after with Project Masala.

Just keeping expectations in check ;)

    QS :D

Hey d219, Yeah Ive been playing around with a few little things. It is so much better now. I was testing out the new pause feature the other day (which by the way is awesome) but i noticed it still has a small delay. Its not to bad but when you compare it to the top games (angry birds, cut the rope) its a little slow. Unfortunately load times is one of those things that can hurt us in reviews so yeah even if a second here or there was shaved off I'm sure it'd help our apps a heap!

The very fact they can load a pause scene in addition to the current scene would seem to indicate that it would be possible to have user defined loads and dumps. If this were possible as a background thing with no apparent freezing of current scene, the whole issue of load times could be in great part managed by defined stepped loading, something like- load basic scene and put up banner for intro info, hold for 3 seconds and load actor animation, etc. It might be something that took thought to put into a project but might well reward with a smoother experience for the user.

"Memory leak problem solved" - does this mean that we don't have to recycle actors
    in our apps anymore?

I think this refers to the GS editor problem rather than the build up in memory in apps. That would be more of a memory clearing issue in the app. Hopefully that will come soon as well.
