GameSalad allows you to publish and receive .app files without sending your game to the App Store.

Unfortunately, my game saves as "null" which is impossible to change.

It let me get past "Provisioning Profile" (since I hadn't gotten the iOS Developer $99 upgrade) and I rather not pay the $99.

Any ideas on how to change the name from null to "<Name Here>.app"?

that's why. without the dev package it wont work.

they used to have a way you could create an unsigned mac app, but i dont see that option anymore. but all iphone apps require you to have provisioning profiles

to test with it and things. But to acctually submit the game you need to pay the $99 dollars. If you can make a good game you will get that money back soon enough ;)
