How many levels should i start with ?

I am making an app with levels.
And i will add more levels in updates.
But how many levels do you think the app should start off with.

20 ? 40 ? 60 ?

    In the game I am currently making there are only 18 levels, and i will add more as i update. Just do 1 world or something.

    Depends on how long and challenging the levels are. If each level has replayability also is a huge factor.

    I don't think it's about the number of levels but the amount of game time.

    My first game had 32 levels. That, I think, was way to few. My upcoming game "Lefty" is featuring 60 levels. Not a huge improvement as compared to others, but you have to remember you're competing with games that have 100+ levels.

    as many as you possible can. my game has 100 levels.

    I would venture to Say if your Game has 500 levels people will buy it for 99¢ even if the last 200-300 levels suck. They will see a great value at 00.2¢ per level :)

    Just make sure you have a custom splash so its not obvious the game is made with GameSalad and a scam. ;)

    Angry Birds started off with 18 levels, use this as a reference.

    nextgen are yo sure angry birds started with 18? wow and what about fragger started levels? any idea?

    An app called 'Cover Orange' Didn't start off with 100's of levels.
    Now it has over 200 by adding 20 Levels each update.

    40 is a good number... but yeah, it depens of the lenght of your levels.

    If you levels take 5-10 minutes to complete, 20 is more than enough.

    problem is, are you going to want to keep updating levels if no one is buying?

    Thats the thing, would you create 200 levels, and it ends up that no one buys it, or 20 levels so you know if no one buys it you didnt waste too much of your time.
