Alright, I haven't finished my game yet, but I'm am to a point where I want to start testing it on the iPhone to make sure it works correctly. What all do I need to do to be able to test it?
you need a $99 express account, xcode to install the viewer, and you should really just go ahead and register with apple for $100 so that you can build development apps for testing purposes. It is all explained step by step after you pay the $99 to GS.
Ok, one more question, because the Express is $99 a year, will it ask you after a year if you want to keep it for another year? Because what if i run out of ideas and next year I dont want to create games anymore, I dont want to be paying the $99.
you'll have to look it up. no one here will be able to answer this based on experience because express has not been in existence for a year yet. I'm sure it is in the wiki somewhere.
I got my Express Membership. But the tutorials are for publishing your game. Which i just want to test it with the iTouch(which is what I have). Im not finished with it yet.
click on the orange button on the GS website that says "make iphone games". then click on the same orange button which now says "manage iphone games" (or something like that). Then download the latest gamesalad viewer at the bottom of that page. The tutorial link on that page will walk you through the rest. just follow it exactly
Did you follow ALL the steps in the tutorial to the right of the iphone image in your management portfolio. It walks you through all of it step by step. It starts with telling you to download the latest sdk from the iphone dev center. It shows screen shots of how to set up your certificates, etc. Just follow EVERYTHING it says to the letter.
Thanks tshirt, do you have an answer to my question i last asked? Because it wont let me activate the developer program until i fax that stuff. I might have done something wrong though.
Im just having all kinds of problems right now. Ok, i got the $99 express membership for GS. Then I preceded to follow the steps to publish or in my case, test my game. I bought the $99 iPhone Developer Program and it sent me an e-mail with my activation code. So i clicked the link for that and it took me to the Developer website but under my enrollment status it said, Activation On Hold, credit card and enrollment information did not match?? So I've already paid the $99 and now I don't know what to do. It said I can fill out a form with my enrollment ID, email, and license copy and fax it. But I don't have a fax machine.
I ran into the same problem. Got the form apple sent notarized, faxed it to them and a day or to later I was ready to go. Just do what apple says and it should all work out.
i had the same thing, look up the apple iphone developers number and call them, i mentioned my problem and within 5 minutes i was activated, i didnt need to fax anything
Ok, I think ill call them tomorrow some time. Im just glad im not the only that has had this problem. I was starting to get upset because i've worked hard on my game, and it wasn't working and i had already paid for it.
Comments
1. Buy the apple developers license $99
2. Buy the GS membership (express) $99
Good luck
