Trying to get itunes NOT to save my password so I can check if promo codes used

So normally there's supposed to be a 'save password' checkbox when you sign into itunes, right?

Mine seems to have disappeared. Which means I can't check if promo codes have been used or not as the password is always saved.

Does anyone know if there is some setting or something I'm not seeing si I can get that check box back (and leave it unticked)?

    C'mon there must be someone who knows how to get the 'save password' check box back...?

    I have never seen as tick box for saving your password (am on a Mac) but you can put it in the preferences and it seems to save it.
