Decidering if I should go the learning curve. Is there algorithmic, programatic,and mathematic control over vector graphics and the lines and points of on screen polygons?

In GameSalad, as of now, there are no vectors graphics.

There are no graphics primitives at all really. Everything is pretty much a 2D sprite image (i.e. the actor in GS speak).
