getting a company name

how would i get a custom name when i upload games to the appstore. i havent created a developer account yet. would i have to make a dba or does apple give me the choice to pick a name?

    If you have a business then you can create a business account. If you dont then you have to have an individual account and your name will appear with it. Then you can add a business name to be next to your real name in certain listings.

    but what about when you search my company name ex. when you search chillingo you find all chillingo apps. will that happen?

    You wont have anything like that. You developer page will be your name not a company. If you want a company name only then you need to setup an actual business. Apple requires documentation you are a real business.

    so if i apply for a dba at legalzoom will that be alright?

    Nope. Apple Lists acceptable Documents. You really should be contacting them about this. Not exactly a GameSalad issue.

    It's been 10 years since i've gotten one, but don't you have to register your dba at a courthouse in the county you plan on conducting business from?

    And I think it takes more than a dba to register as a business. Like a tax i.d. etc...
