Zoom out the ipad display?

Is there a way you can zoom out so you are able to see the whole screen of an ipad on my 13 inch macbook pro? I saw a template and when i tried it out the display was zoomed out so i could see the whole screen on the ipad. right now i have to scroll in both directions :(
please help
