Another Contraints and Performance Question

Alright I haven't been around for a while. I was distraught about loosing TOTB3 and couldn't cope. Hah, no I went to Florida for the mini lobster season and then got back and had complete ACL reconstructive surgery for my knee. Fun stuff.

Anyway on to the question, ya?
-Do constraints bog down performance depending on how many are on the scene or how many are active?

Lets say I have 10 contraints that only trigger individually when the mouse is near a location. Is performance affected as if 10 constraints are acting on it, or as if 1 is?

Constraints, when activated in a scene, are 'on' all the time - which is why they're so performance busting if you have to many things on screen 'always' checking stuff.

So in your case, if they're activated one at a time through a rule, you will only have one constraint active at once.

    You should be fine ;)

Don't forget you can save some constraints by double clicking on the actor in the scene and going through the current scene/layers....

Say you want to track the position of an actors X Y but don't want constraints using the current scene/layers is a good way.
