Why do I have to sync my iphone in order to copy app

Hi Guys,
I used to be apple to simply drag my app onto the iphone section of itunes and the app would copy automatically. That now longer works and i have to sync which takes 15 minutes each time I want to test my Adhoc builds.

Does anyone know a way of copying new apps onto the phone without having to sync the whole phone?

yup, connect your iPhone and cancel the auto iTunes synch. load up Xcode and click 'window' and then 'organizer'. You'll see your device on the left, click applications under it and then the big plus on the main window, choose your .app and it'll install.

I believe you can use xcode to install adhocs without syncing.

I haven't tried but i'm pretty sure I have seen others say they use that method.
