Set device volume to musicvolume attribute not working

Hi.
im having on going issues trying to get device.audio.volume music to set to a musicvolume attribute when change using a volume slider.
I've read this is a bug in 0.9.6 . whats the work around. i've tried contraining the device.audio.volume.music to musicvolume attribute which works but it
cause sound pops in doing so.
There's got to be a work around.
Please help

for anyone else having a similar problem do this
set change attribute after you play music not before.
