I am making a game that include MLB player names, so could I read I need a license to use their names. Can I just change their names a little so that it wouldn't be exactly the same but very similar like Adwian Gonzuloo instead of Adrian Gonzalez? Would I still need licensing or could I use this without any problems?

Parodies are fine, but you cannot use their real names, or the names of the team they play for. But what you are describing would be okay.

    How about this: http://articles.latimes.com/2006/aug/09/sports/sp-fantasy9

Maybe I can use the real names?

Edit: Actually its about stats, not the names :(

But at least I can use the parodies!

That falls under parodies. I think it would be okay.

What, a real virtual lawyer, SlickZero, or just a parody? ;-)

I'd say parody. Pretty much everything I do in life is a joke. :P
