save text with new keyboard

hey all, can anyone help me with saving the text with the new keyboard? I want to make it so you can enter your name and save it when you press the "done" button on the keyboard. Then I want to make so that when you press a button, like the number 1,2,3 etc. it loads the name you saved. I am trying to make it so that you can save a different name to each button and then when you click that button it will make them name appear and allow you to edit it again. But all I can do so far is make it so you enter text and display it I can't figure out how to apply the save attributes in this case. Thanks.

    Make a text attribute.
    Use the keyboard input to change that.
    Save the text attribute
    Load the text attribute ?

    i tried that and it makes the words disappear. but i will keep trying thanks.
