best way to collaborate on a game
hi there
i am creating a game with my cousin in the next couple of weeks
but i was wondering how does the collabration work ?
i mean will we have the same files of the games ( updated version of course ) just by logging into the account or what ?
best of regards

My colleague Jake and I worked on Gravitrixx together. The way GS works at the moment, we couldn't both work on the game at the same time.
Instead, we would send eachother the latest file to work on once we'd done our bits.
So you need one file that you swap between you.
Hope that helps!

Edit: And for the record, we used my GS account on two machines. Not sure if that's important or not!
so we have to keep an updated version of the project files going back and forward between me and him
good enough i guess
I set it up so that Jake would need to do the least amount of coding - essentially, all he had to do was make some levels by dragging actors into the scene.
I believe we dragged whole scenes in from eachothers projects this way. Essentially, he'd make 10 levels and I'd put them into a 'Master' file.
It worked pretty well for the most part
Good luck!

Dropbox is great! Here's the link:

Another good feature of the free account is that it keeps a 30 day history of your revisions and you can access previous versions if you ever need to.
When the file was on the other computer, it simply opened up another gamesalad application, but couldn't combine the file with the original group of files.
Is there a certain way to do it?
thanks for any help..
