friction frozen

Hey all, anyone know how to make friction work? I want my actor to slide on something like it is ice and then slide on something else like it is carpet. But when I change friction in both actors, nothing seems to happen. How do I make friction work? Thanks.

    I'm sure it has to do with Drag too.

    Try it with both actors?

    Set the friction on the character to 100 then on ice set it to 0 then on other platforms set it accordingly.

    I changed them on both surfaces to 100 and no difference than if they are at 0 for some reason.
