Question about updating to iOS 5

Ok. So I'm at work right now and they have the latest version of iTunes here. I went to update to iOS 5 and it said that it's gonna delete everything on my iPhone because this isn't the computer I regularly sync to. Sooooo I authorized my work computer but I'm afraid to sync to it. Will I lose all my stuff if I sync even tho I authorized it ? Not sure if I make sense lol. And if I CAN sync w/o losing my data can I then update ? Thx in advance.

    I dont believe that you will lose all your stuff. Because i have used my ipad to sync on three computers

    Well now I'm stuck in the middle ... Decisions :-) anybody else have a say on this lol.

    I've decided to go ahead and do it and if I lose all my data, well I have it backed up at home, so I'll still have iOS 5 and just sync all my stuff at home (as in overwrite and re-sync)

    Good for you :) iOS 5 is very nice. I downloaded it earlier today and it runs pretty well. If I were you though, I would have waited until I had gotten home. It makes the process about 10 times easier if you have your computer that the iPhone is synced to with you to do the update.

    Error messages come from the servers being bombarded with traffic, and not being able to connect. I updated last night with no problems. I imagine today it will be a little busy for a while, but should taper off as the day goes on.

    And yes, Mago. Viewer works fine for me as well.

    I had the viewer fine on my beta iOS 5

    As far as syncing to more than on computer it can be done but you have screw with some of ID keys and stuff inside the itunes library files.

    I have updated all but one of my devices for some reason the last one is giving me the message that all content will be removed even though I sync it to that mac. so i'm not sure whats up.
