I want by levels to be bigger than the normal screen, and I also watched tshirtbooth's videos about bigger scenes. I created two attributes(real), camX and camY. I also created an actor and added constrain attribute, camX (camY) to current scene origin X...

But how to do in my character movements, I don't find a way to do it when using buttons to move a character in a game??

Can someone help me...please :)

thank you

Have the behavior, "Control Camera" in your actor, then just use the normal navigation buttons or what ever you have to control your actor. Does that answer your question?

The behavior is in my actor but the camera does not follow him^^ I can run out of the scene with my actor and nothing happens or changes :((

Is he on a scrollable layer?

what do you mean? I have a background in front and my player is also on front.

In Scene -> Layers, is the actor you want to control the camera on a layer that is checked "Scrollable?"
  • GuaveMediaGuaveMedia Member, PRO Posts: 1,262
    is not srollable!
But I have only background in layers and when I press the arrow down, all my actors are shown up. Means they are inside background file....

It needs to be scrollable for your actor to control the camera, try that. Or, make a new layer for the actor, so that it works properly...

Yeah but how to get the actor out of the background file? And when I add a new actor, it isn't my character anymore? :///

You can't export your actor with the background file. You need to export it as a separate PNG. Is that what you mean?

Okey I don't said it clear, in my layers I only have 1 file (background) and in background, all my actors and images are listed.

    You understand or?

I still don't understand what the problem is now. Does the camera follow your actor yet?
  • GuaveMediaGuaveMedia Member, PRO Posts: 1,262
No because in my layer is only "Background"
    Scrollable is on....

And when I press the arrow of the background layer, all other layers get listed up...
Also my actor, where scrollable is off and I can't turn it on..

    maybe you understand it now?

When you click the triangle, it shows all the actors on that layer. So when Background is scrollable, the camera will move with the actor if the control camera behavior is in the actor.

But that does not happen :(

Does your layers tab kinda looks like this, with a background layer, then all the actors in it.

    image

just make a new layer to put your unscrollable stuff on and uncheck scrollable for that layer
  • JadarStudiosJadarStudios Member Posts: 264
    Exactly.

But I cant move files out of the background layer???

Yes you can. You have to create the new layer first, then drag the actors names in the list into that new layer. It takes a steady hand, but you can drag and drop from one layer into another.
  • JadarStudiosJadarStudios Member Posts: 264
Not unless you make another layer by pressing the + button to move things out of the layer.

EDIT: Slick got to it first...

But then my actor disappears when I move him to the new layer....both layers are scrollable or?

Drag the layer all the way up to the top.

Layer with Actor on top, then layer background..

behavior control camera in actor but still nothing happens :((

I just strechted my background image vertical, does this play a role or is it not important?

    I am really frustrated ...

Try deleting the actor from the scene, and putting it back in.

    There only two layers,

1.Layer (with my actor in it, scrollable on)
