Pre-loading help

Looked at the article http://gamesalad.com/blog/2011/10/05/gamesalad-best-practices-asset-pre-loader/ and don't have photoshop and have used my trial and have no clue how to create a translucent block as I have never really needed too :/ Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction so I don't have to ask again e..g I do have inkscape installed.

    I would recommend you get you install Gimp or Pixelmator, they are both great products. :)

    Doesn't really help my issue just need to know how to create a null texture but thanks for the idea.

    That does help your issue if you software doesn't support png creation or transparent docs or layers. To create a null texture you need to create a blank layer in your choice of software at a small image size. Then go to save as, save for web and devices or whatever menu your software uses to choose file type and settings. You'll want to save as a transparent png with lowest settings without noise showing up.
