How do I get my scene to scroll automatically from start to finish.

For e.g. I have a scene, when I click the play button in Game Salad, I want the screen to move from a to b.

Please...Help...Someone...Anyone?

Give your BG actor a behaviour to either "move" or "interpolate" across the screen when you start the game.

If you have a specific place for it to move to then use "move to".

You can use scene wrapping if you want to have a looping BG but most people just use recycling for this. I'm guessing by your description that you just wan the BG to move from right to left (or visa versa) then stop when finished.

Also search parallax (hope I spelt it right) there was a free template the other day which showed the endless scrolling method and just change the main camera actor from user control to move on It's own, Then the scene would keep moving if that's what your looking for.

Search scene preview. I have a demo on my profile that has a scene preview with interpolate and cancel preview.

Okay...I dont know if this has been asked before.
    Make an actor called CameraActor.

In there put the control camera behavior.
Then put a move to or interpolate behavior for the X and Y of where you want the screen to move.
    Set the duration to whatever.
Make that actor invisible by going to color, and changing the Alpha to 0.

If you shill cannot get it, ill make a template for you.
    But try this, it works.

Thanks for your response, I have tried what you said using the move to behaviour and I cant seem to get it working, the reason why I haven't done interpolate is because I don't know how to use that just yet, still learning...

If you would be so kind to create me a template that would be fab, my scene width is 3000 and height is 320.

    Thanks in advance...

Dan did you not open the Demo I told you about?

There only a few reason the camera would not move right.
    - You have more than one actor controlling the camera
    - your layers have scrollable unchecked
-you have the control camera setup inside a rule that never meets the conditions set, Etc…

Also please keep all your questions on this in one thread. It causes clutter of the forum and confusion of your question when you create multiple threads on the same thing.

    Thanks I'm merging them now.

Did you search inside gamesalad under new?

Open GameSalad, Click new and then search Scene Preview Double click the icon that matches my avatar image. I just checked and it opened right up.

    Dan,

Put 2 interpolate behaviors in the actor that controls the screen.

You'll see "Interpolate attribute" There you will click the "e" and do Self.Position.X, then right across you will see "to" and put the position you want to move the camera.
Same for the Y. So you should have 2 interpolates in there.

Now, you dont want to put your actor right where you want the camera, cause then it wont do anything. Move it away from the end point, and press preview.

@Braydon_SFX , I did what you advised, and the scene moves automatically but from the right to the left instead of left to right, this is the case for what ever position I put in the to value.

thank you, you are a scholar and a gent.

    Dan,

All that means is put the actor that controls the camera where you want it to start, for yours it might be left, cause you want it to move right. Then, plug in the coordinates you want and then preview it, it does take fine tuning.

Also, PM me your email, ill send you an template.

Dan Look through that demo. It moves the camera without a camera control actor that moves around. Its really a good way to m move the camera automatically through a preset sequence or distance
