What about letting users define names and properties of a player?
Hi there,
Am new to this and have spent time reading help file, forums and watched virtually every tutorial on Cookbook/Youtube channel...
...so tell me if I'm wrong - but - can't find a single piece on how to let a user do the following:
1. in a scene gather x number of 'players' and assign them certain properties such as name, speed, weight etc
2. in a settings menu or similar let the user tweak 'global settings' such as windspeed, gravity etc.
Doesn't those features exist or have I just been blind or not trying hard enough?
Thanks for the help,
/Håkan

And there is a weight (density) option under the "Physics" section, along with several other options you can play around with and tweak to your liking. And you can set angular velocities in the same area under motion if you want a character to move constantly in any direction.
As far as naming an actor something else, it's just a matter of double clicking the name in the bin, and changing it.

To my question...
What I meant was that I would like the player of the game go to something like a settings menu. In that menu he/she should be able to define his own 'players' of the game. Let's say that he has one green player - one blue and one orange. I would want him to firstly be able to per player category i.e green, blue and orange set his own specific attributes on them. For example he should be able to assign friction x on green and friction y on the blue etc...
...so this is some kind of setup mode before he begins playing.
The second part I would want to let the user do is to duplicate his green players to as many as he would need for the game.
I will continue to look around - but - I have not seen this functionality in any game so far.
The game example will definitely help me a bit on the way and maybe I will rethink and let different scenes have the possibilities to have different attributes (at a second thought this might actually be more useful...)
Again - thanks for quick help.
