Pre-load art question
So I've just unchecked all pre-load art boxes in my game with DBA's tool - and published an ad-hoc of my game.
The result - exactly the same as before. No noticable difference whatsoever.
However, the game I'm building uses static images that are on the screen at all times and contain rules as to whether their alpha is 0 or 1 depending on players input. So does this mean that pre-load off is worthless for me because they're being treated as though in use even though their alpha is turned off?
And then if so - would a work around be to have all images off-screen and have additional rules positioning them at the same time as turning the alpha on?
Any ideas? I can't find any worthwhile info abou pre-load on this forum.

I'm currently still running GS 0.982 for fear of ruining my project.
Have any of you who have moved onto 0.988 noticed any load time improvements?
