Definitely a GS first. If possible.

Hey everyone.

As some of you might know, I was training to be a Pro Wrestler for a couple years.
I have connections through out Australia for Professional Wrestling.

I was wondering do any of you think a Wrestling game would be possible with GS?
Like the various moves, like close lines, power bombs etc.

Although it would be 2D, it would still be a 3d play type.

Would love to see a heated discussion on this one!
Already started a Facebook page for the wrestlers to start getting involved with.

Haven't started the game yet or for a long time. Just seeing who'd be interested and what people think.

Do you mean like Super Punch-Out!! on SNES???

Because if you're talking about something like that, then I am 100% positive that GS will be able to make that considering SNES is more primitive.

Well the main reason it's something worth considering is because I can actually get the Aussie wrestlers involved in the game and be put into the game.
But I want them to be able to lock up and do all the moves and what not, but i'm thinking their might be layering issues...

I know WWE 12 or WWE Here comes the pain would be near impossible, but close would be nice...

    Hey Brian ,
Take a read about "Hit Boxes" to understand how to make a fight engine between 2 characters ..

Thanks @P-O-M I will have a look right now :), my main concern is how the wrestling will look with overlaps etc...

I think this would be an almighty task, need a ton of animation and not sure GS would handle it well. Its not your typical tekken type game. Take a power bomb for instance, head to go behind one leg, the opponent to have 1 leg behind the move guys leg whilst 1 in front, On the way up to the power bomb both characters bodies would need to be heavily animated.
Correct me if I'm wrong, have you released something yet? I think you should not look at what hasn't been done etc, find a good mechanic that GS handles well and spend your time on that and polish it up as much as you can to make a decent game.

@beefy_clyro - Thanks mate, you make awesome points!
No haven't released a game yet (SUPER CLOSE THOUGH :D) And as I stated above, this is just an idea process for possibly later on down the track :)
Not starting another project, especially like this yet lol.

Awesome, hope looking at those points help you make your decision. I hate starting projects just to have to abandon them down the line as you haven't thought about them thoroughly enough.
Looking forward to seeing your released game :)

    Thanks Beefy!

Got one big and two small ones in the works at the moment, the two small ones are pretty much done! Aside from art and a couple little things.
One is the TOTB4 entrant though lol. But i'll be having my artist re do the art once the competition is over : )

I think GS could do it, if you are just thinking about a side-view kind of thing. One guy on one side, on guy on the other.
Kind of like GS's Rock Paper Scissors game. (on the App Store) It would be fairly primitive, but I think it would be possible.

    Good Luck!

    Cheers @SnapFire
Yeah kinda like that, but i'd want them to be able to move all over the ring and even climb to the top Rope if I ever did it.
My major concern though is the overlapping of body parts when doing grapples.
