IF and when i go pro, will Amazon allow my games with the black bars on the edges? I have a few i don't want to rework for the fire, right now they are iPad size.

    It is difficult to know if apps are approved for Kindle Fire at any time as the developer portal does not tell you what your app is approved for.
    If an App is approved I get an email saying "the app is approved and will be considered separately for Kindle"...I do not receive an email stating whether it is approved or not.
    You can search for 'apps for kindle' using the store which is clunky...sadly the actual page for your app does not say if it is Kindle ready or not so you really have to use the 'apps for kindle' list to find your app.

    My GS developed app 'hellozoo' is on the Kindle list and it will have the black bars on the edges.

    I also don't like that Amazon does not tell you if your sales came from the Kindle Fire or just the regular amazon app store.

    I ported my app from the iPhone instead of iPad to kindle, it fits way better and I made my scen background color black so that it gives me black on the side edges about the width of the kindle menu bars that come up.. My app is in horizontal view.

    Is there a different submission process between amazon app store and the kindle? Do you just submit the same binary?

    @beefy they just further review your amazon submission once it's been accepted in the amazon store.

    All my fire games have black bars on the side. So far so good.

    @scitunes what do you mean by Black bars on the side after log in to amazon beside your app right or can you provide me picture please

    I simply published a few of my iphone games as is. I didn't change the size or anything. That causes the kindle fire to letterbox the game with black bars on the left and right sides of the screen with your game playing in the middle.

    @scitunes What about sound delays?
    Also will the black bars happen on the Nook Tablet? Does the Nook Tablet also have sound delays?

    @scitunes .. what games do you have on the amazon store and how are you finding sales?

    I only have the kindle fire but I am to understand the delay has to do with the version of Android gamesalad uses no the device. I must say with the update it is much better, also there is no delay on music files only sound files. Check out the sticky from Lauren http://forums.gamesalad.com/discussion/37166/on-android-device-sound-library-delay-issues#Item_5

    @scitunes So you are saying that you can just publish your iPhone game to the Kindle Fire and it will be fine? Gosh it's a miracle. :)

    Just as a test we submitted a game we designed for the ipad, to the Amazon market. It was accepted to the Amazon market however it was denied for the Kindle Fire. They basically said that there was less than 60% game playing space on the screen and that's why it was denied. The black bars on the side were too big. I'm not sure if the 60% is accurate or not, but that might be a good rule of thumb to use. Oh and don't submit straight from ipad settings. ;-)

    He is what I used to get my app on kindle and it was accepted to the Kindle Fire store. As well as this one could also use the camera resizing trick.
