Hi there,

it's been quite a while since my last post on these forums. But I wasn't lazy at all... Actually, I've been creating several new game concepts, but couldn't quite decide which one to finalize. Now, while I'm still waiting for Universal Builds in Gamesalad, I thought I could use the time to get really deep into Unity and 3D (but don't worry, I'll still be developing 2D stuff with Gamesalad...).

However, here's a teaser video of my upcoming first realtime 3D game:

As always, I've been creating nearly everything on my own (Graphics & Design, Digital Painting, Modelling, Animation, Sound Effects and Programming).
The music is done by a friend of mine, Moritz Horvath.

I've even learned how to deal with shader lab and rewrote myself a shader that allows full scene realtime bumped specular reflections (even Infinity Blade doesn't have that, the background is always static unlit baked lightmap stuff) - running with 30 fps even on iPad 1.

Hope you like it!

Best,
Thomas

Impressive alround. Hope you're enjoying it. I did some 3d a good few years back and you couldnt get that kind of performance on workstation. Look forward to seeing and play the game

that's some insane !@#$%!.. i say forget about 2D and just do that full time. one thing that bothered me a lot is that instead of the woman screaming (which i thought was where that noise is coming from) the monsters are screaming... kinda funny but you might want to reconsider, woman screaming isn't the most pleasant noise to be repeated over and over again. just my 2 cents.

That's sick. How long to take you to learn unity? I try to learn it but it's so hard to learn those action scripts. I can do everything you said but programming... Hell. That's the hardest thing for an artist. BTW, you can create you own music too. Here's a software I recommend MAGIX Music Maker. So easy to use but need time to make a song right.

Thank you all, especially thanks @ the Sous Chefs! Yeah, Spooky Hoofs 3D is definitely on my list for the next year ;)

@ Clock, it took me about half a year to learn Unity. And it is quite a task, I must say. You can do amazing things with it, there's just no limits... But it takes its time.
For 2D stuff or just for testing a layout design, Gamesalad is much faster to work with.
And for the Magix Music Maker... I don't think that would help. In terms of music, I'm simply not talented at all. Graphics, Drawing, Animation, that's for me, but not the music... :) Thank god I got a friend who is a genius musician.

    Cool!
I have been 'secretly' working on 3d stuff too but in the first place to make my assets for my gs games.
I find it amazing how fast you have build all this. I am working on a trailer for my new GS game for the last months and know how much work modeling is.
    Looking forward to this release!

Thomas you beast ... looks epic man, congrats, can't wait to try it! Soo impressive, can't believe bar music you did that single handedly!

@qauntumsheep & p-o-m, i know you're probably only kidding but you can't give up, the top lists are littered with 2d games!

Hey Thomas, long time no speak, I'm gonna send u an email cause I got a couple questions. I've been using 3d for quite a while myself. Love cinema 4d and unity but found unity too hard. However there are now some good wysiwyg plugins for unity now that are more like gamesalad, do u use any of those? Unreal and Crytek have sdk's for iOS deployment now too.

    Great work as always...

Wow, Incredible, you are very talented and Pro Active! Congratulations!

Thank you @tshirtbooth, really appreciate your feedback!
And of course thank you all!

@ Touchtilt, no, I don't use any plugins at all, I'm coding everything all by myself. That's easier for me and brings more performance, by far. Well, maybe I'll buy a plugin for in-app-purchasing, but that should be all.
And for UDK, yes, that is also powerful (and cheaper) but much more difficult to use. I find Unity really comfortable compared to what you can do with it...

    Holy... Will defiantly buy it.
