As requested by @ultima the first in a series on audio production. I've done two so far and post your questions and I will combine them into the series going forward. Note: I have been a sound engineer for over 20+ years.

    thanks Dave .. appreciate the time taken to share your knowledge. Audio is the most challenging thing for me, though I appreciate it greatly so I'm eager to learn. .... I think the most interesting and enlightening part of what I saw so far was the thinking behind your choices ... eg: the waveform and sampling for why mp3's are bad etc .... very to the point, explained clearly .. I get it .... hope you have some more coming!

    Yes, I plan on doing it based on feedback that way I can meet people's needs as it is a very big subject. Glad you found it helpful!

    excellent. For me I would appreciate if you could start a garageband project from scratch ... explain your choice of beats per minute and lay a few loops in explaining how they work together and how you decide the instrument, timing of their positioning and the length of each piece. Like in your example you have the harmonica at certain points ... what decision (tempo, levels, length) did you make and why. Thanks.

    Yeah that comes from 20+ years experence..lol tough to boil that down. It's like I explained in the first video you have to know music to know what to do. For me it's more instinct now than anything and from studying music theory and style.

    @FryingBaconStudios

    Very good point you make in video 1 about needing an eclectic taste in music to do this kind of stuff.

    @FriingBaconStudios thanx for the videos, yes Adele is great, part of my working loop. watching the videos now.

    very interesting and educational material... guess i just don't have the perfect tune (or ear) can't tell sounds apart using a $500 headphone from apple white earbud.. (well not that severe but can't go wow like others when they sit in my car and compliment the Harman Kardon system(yes it's a crappy low end mass market brand, but even that is too good for my ears)... i'm just like.. really? ok?)

    Taking a bow. @ultima there is a website that has software to teach you how to listen and learn to identify sound frequencies but yes an ear is mainly something you're born with. My wife has perfect pitch and although I have great ears I'm major jealous of her..lol
