Anyone know how they did it?
Even how they did the still water effect?
I'd love the know how many frames they used etc.

Or anyone else's suggestions for good QUALITY water effects.

Thanks everyone :D

    He didn't use game salad so I'm not sure many people here would really have any idea you could prob do the waterfall with particles though

    he talked about it a year ago or so when he was working on it, i think it's a series of 6 images or something.

    They are all just a sequence of 5 images set to loop. In GameSalad you would use the Animate behavior.

    The waterfall was from an iPhone video I took of an actual waterfall. I pulled 5 frames from the video and fiddled with them in Photoshop to make them loop fairly seamlessly. It's a little tough to do with only 5 images but I think it came out ok.

    The still water effects were done with an neat old piece of Windows freeware called Sqirlz. Here is a link:

    They are also only 5 frames set to loop.

    Hope this helps!

    Yeah you just need a good video loop and then play with the frames in AE or PS. If you can't find a loop find a still and massage that.

    Yeah, the site is hideous. Very late 90's as far as site design is concerned. But if the software is capable of doing what Joe did in his game, I don't think it's all that bad.

    You can get a very good moving water effect by doing a series of long exposures. It softens the images but looks convincing and loops well even if the images are ordered in no particular way.

    @ozboybrain
    i did this for my game i made with gamesalad. its called "Terra God".

    i used adobe flash cs3. the displacement effect. here is the link. basically when your done, you export as png sequence. and there is your animation. i advise you to process the exported png files through Image Alpha for best optimization and smaller file sizes.
