hi...anyone have any luck faking Z or moving actors back in the scene in perspective? Like big in the foreground and small in the background as the actors move....just wondering...
The ball appears to get smaller the higher up it goes. I had to tone it back a bit though, as collision detection stopped working if I constrained an actor's width/height. I'm using particle effects to create the illusion of depth.
Huge Graphics has an iPhone game called "Orbots Attack" where there is probably the best simulated 3d I've seen from a GameSalad game. Not actors moving close and far on the z, but the layering effects, focus effects and aerial perspective (moving smoke/fog) are very well done. Nice 3d models for the orbots help too.
I've thought about fake 3d in GameSalad, and worry that the softening effect of scaling bitmaps might not work well, at least if the actor is sharpley defined.
