New 8bit-game - PROBLEM with SIZE

Hey there everybody

I'm currently working on a new adventure game 8-bit
My problem is, that i dont know wich size i schould use...please help me :)
Wich size is better...Example 1 or example 2?!

    Example 2. It give more vision.

    ex. 2. the first one is difficult to look at. in both of them the character needs to stand out more. character would either need to be bigger or less value and saturation on your bg

    Okay :) i'll definitely take Example 2!

    @xforce thanks much, but the character is not finisched, he's only there to show a bit better where the wall and the ground is :) but will try to make him it better.
