Do I have to update the SDK and various GS components if I update my iPhone to iOS 5.1 ?

I am using GS 0.9.8.9 and will do so for a while cause of the problem with the Ads in the beginning of the newest version.
I would like to upgrade my iPhone to iOS 5.1. Do I have to upgrade to the latest SDK and other stuff as well?

    No but you may eventually be forced to update GS as I think they Only keep the last couple versions of the publishing server. But I have not updated Xcode in quite some time. To be honest I don't think 4.3 even works on snow leopard.
