Ball bouncing and coming to rest

I'm having trouble getting a ball to bounce and then come to rest. I want the ball to arc through the air and bounce on the ground but get lower and lower until it comes to a stop. I've tried setting the restitution on the ground actor to 0.5 or the restitution on the ball actor to 0.5, but either way the ball does what I want until I reset the scene with the ball at the ground level again, at which point the ball bounces into the air on its own before I've set the direction and velocity.

Any suggestions?

    Accepted Answer
    i would set balls restitution to 0 and the ground to 0,5.
    that way you can variate the bounce better on different surfaceses.

    if the ball still wont come to a rest - try to put in a higher density value.

    in extreme cases you could constrain self.motion.y to 0 if self.motion.y less then 1

    hope it helps - its hard to guess when i havent seen the project file

    Well, I just recreated the scenario above in a new game file and I can't get it to do what I'm describing, so maybe I have something else going on in my full game that's causing this.
