I think that the forums should have one more category, the Artist for Hire category. It Would allow artist to post that they are looking for work, some sample work, and anything else they felt important. Comments would be only for reviews if you had used the artist and all other communication would be done else where( Email, Skype, or GS messages). They would need to Name of the post with their art style for easy style searching. This way it would be able to act like a catalog for people looking for art for their game. The gs marketplace is great but it does not have any custom work and this would cover that. GS would not be responsible for any part of this and everyone would be between the two parties involved. What you guys think?

it is all we have for now … without constraining/containing ads … the forum discussion consists of pages of ads and spam … and the forum is here for help; not for promoting stuff.
perhaps in MarketPlace one could offer a sampler of free art/music … with custom work offers.
Im a firm believer that the biggest down turn this forum took was about s month after they opened the forum marketplace and everyone turned their eyes to how much a few individuals where making and then many more started with trying to offer their shovel-ware on there to make fast cash. but long story short keeping money off the main forum is definitely gonna be better for the community as a whole.
this is actually something thats been brewing around in my head for the past few months. you're both probably aware of conceptart.org. at the top of the site you can see a small icon that corresponds to a specific artist. when you click on one of them it shows a small bio of the artist along with a a few samples of their work. that site is basically targeted at conceptart but i always thought why isnt there something like this for artists that want to specialize in game art.
it was actually when i first saw the new GS marketplace that i thought something like this should be implemented. though if GS didnt care for this i was thinking i might even create a site for gameartists with this feature. what i feel helps with that little icon is that you instantly see something they've made and think "hey i like that artists style ill click on them and see what their other work is like and what their experience is"
