Attribute Name Limitations

I just have a quick question on attribute naming.

Are they limited to letters and numbers? Or can there be spaces, and special characters?

I'm aware you can enter them but just wasn't sure if it would cause any kind of error with anything.

    There shouldn't be any problems with attributes names, because GS will assign a unique ID to each one and use that ID under the hood :)
