    Illustrator rocks hard! \m/

To be honest I started out with illustrator about ten years ago, so maybe it's just too ingrained in me to give anything else a chance, but anything else just feels like a poor imitation.

Like @ooi, I've been using Illustrator for a looong time...since it came out, in fact.

    Yes, I am OLD. :P

our best artist used inkscape (spriteattack)
  • LeonardDeveloperLeonardDeveloper Member Posts: 4,630
Look let's be real here; it's not the tool it's the artist
  • GraphicWarehouseGraphicWarehouse Member Posts: 927
exactly inkscape may be limited in some ways but ai is limited in ways that effect me more so inkscape is for me

    Illustrator, of course.

To be correct, he used inkscape for the tutorials because its free and everyone can follow along. What he actually uses is corel. But the tool is not relevant. Sprite can make masterpieces in ms paint. Its the artist not the tool. The tool just comes down to personal preference.

i dont bother with vector software (other than toonboom) usually but id hav to put my vote with illustrator. would rather use an adobe product than something from a nobody. but if i really had to use inkscape then i wouldnt have a problem with it either. just adapt to the software.

Never used inkscape, because I've always had Illustrator. Tried freehand back in the day, but hated it because Illustrator was what I knew. I guess it's what you know is what you use.

I voted Illustrator, but if Freehand worked in Lion I would have voted Other.

    @mjmdesign
Isn't it just so convenient that I can get the exact same as yours even the same curves and thicknesses off google images in one search? image

Isn't it just so convenient that they're the exact same but one is more scaled down? Also they're both the same size.....
    They aren't exactly the same.

    They aren't exactly the same.
I can also see the differences, such as the shadows.
    Id say MJMdesigns is better.
  • LeonardDeveloperLeonardDeveloper Member Posts: 4,630
The shadows and the curvings look the exact same in mjm's and the mini one's... IMHO
