GS clearing expressions when moving actors higher or lower in layer stack ( without changing layers)

Hey guys, running into a little bit of a problem here, I'm finding rather annoying.

The other day I posted a question about the relevance of objects in the layer stack and their order... and I've been trying to keep certain objects in certain order, and now I've run into a new problem.

Let's say I have 10 objects in a layer, and my character is in the 10th position of this layer.
I move it up 5 positions ( within the same layer ) and GS clears all my expressions relating to that actor... and it's really starting to irritate me, any help, if I'm doing something wrong would be appreciated.

Again, I'm not moving the actors into different layers, just changing their order within ONE layer.

    Hi @machinegunkelly

    That's crazy, never heard of that happening before; don't understand what's going on there... even if you move an actor to another layer folder, it shouldn't clear expressions, attributes, etc. What version GSC are you using; also for Windows or Mac? And just to check, you're just moving the layer level of actors by dragging them in the Layers section?

    It's doing it consistently, and I'm dragging them in the layers window yes.

    It's driving me crazy, but so far the work around is to move the OTHER layers haha, time consuming but works for this instance.

    and as I go to screen record a video it doesn't do it.

    I've been finding a few small bugs like this.
    I also have a camera restraint, it is constrained to my players X postion+300
    if I moved it UNDER the character, it would also constrain the y position LOL, and if I Moved it back on top, it'd work just fine.

    I'm stripping my project now to see if I have something conflicting...

    Glad you got a workaround, however frustrating... by the sound of it, there's just one actor that's got corrupted, or something.... don't know.... hopefully it'll clear itself... i'm wondering if this happens just in your current game file or all of them...

    None of the bugs you mention make sense. moving the actors even between layers does not affect any of that stuff. You really need to send your project in with a bug report and how to reproduce the issues.

    hmm, okay some more information, but it's no longer clearing the expressions ( I've removed 30 actors and stuck them in a different layer, and no longer see it clearing my main actors actions )

    However,

    I have 3 actors in my top level.
    my Character
    my Camera anchor ( to offset my character -300 from the center of the screen)
    and a rule container, that contains the rules for the character, and constraint to the Camera anchor.

    If I move the rule container from the top, my character becomes stays at whatever Y axis I stick him at, and won't jump etc... but if I stick that rule container on top of the layer stack, all seems to work as it should... truely bizzarre.

    They don't make sense at all, this I know :P

    The clearing of expressions seems to have stopped, assuming though, that if I stuck those 30 actors back in that layer, that it'd return, I will test this tonight.
