Only single art for iPhone4 HD and iPad3 HD?

In the GS with the iPhone platform and RI, if i import an image of 2048x1536 (iPad3 HD) then change its size to 480x320. For iPad i change the size of the camera to 480x320.

Doubt:
1 - This image had been HD for both?
2 - To iPhone4 the RI will adjust the image to 960x640?
3 - For old devices the image is properly adjusted?

All RI does is half the original file size. GameSalad cannot know how big you intend each actors art to be so all it can do it cut the original size in half.

So if you put iPad Retina art into an iphone project and tick RI on. Then non retina devices will be loading iPad art and Retina iphone art will be loading retina iPad art. You need to down size your art to the largest retina size you need for that platform.

Wow you game will be bloated an run slow as when you down size in GS it still processes the image at it's original size I wouldn't use iPad size art in an iPhone game your frame rate will be very low.

My question, resolution-independent option, will adjust the image correctly for all iPhones?

Then, why the game will run slow if resolution-independent adjust image for iPhone?

So RI only decreases by half the art. I thought it fit in with the resolution of each device.
