Owls was just approved for the Kindle Fire, in addition to the iPad and Nook. The iPad version came out last Thursday and sales have been really nothing to take note of. I think because of the time of day it hit the store it was quickly buried. Hopefully it get's picked up for New and Noteworthy tomorrow otherwise I think it's a bust on the iPad.

Here's the full game description:

Equal parts education and entertainment, Owls is a fun matching game for children of all ages.

The Parliament School for Owls is very serious about the Buddy System. Every Owl has a buddy, and is not allowed to come in from recess without them. Your job is to help the Owls find their buddy and get in for lunch! Learn about Owls, watch the seasons change and see how quickly you can send the Owls home. Can you earn 3 stars in every level?

In Owls, children match random pairs of owls to clear the screen. After successfully completing each level, they are rewarded with a little fact about owls. Every 25 levels the seasons change from Spring to Summer, Fall and Winter. They can earn up to 3 stars per level depending on how quickly they clear the screen, and go back as many times as they wish to retry.

Features:
* 999 Random Levels
* 30 Different Owls
* 40 Different backgrounds showing all 4 seasons
* Fun facts about Owls after every level
* 22 Game Center Achievements
* Game Center Leader boards
* Bright and Fun music

This app contains no advertisements, in-app purchases or outside links of any kind. When playing this game, children stay in the game. (this was such a good statement that I 'borrowed' the idea from @liquidgameworks and rewrote it :) )

    Awesome Jon!

    Hope everything works out well, especially for the Kindle Fire. That market is hot right now as you know. Pun intended. ;)

    Yea let's hope so, they rejected the first build I uploaded for the kindle due to the camera issue. I reuploaded it with my constrain camera fix and it got through today.

    I'm already at work on my next quick game. I've got lots of small apps to do while waiting for the ulna free engine to tackle Obliteration II

    @jonmulcahy It seemed prudent to let parents know that they're paying for an app not laden with traps. :)

    Hows the Nook working for you? Did you make it into the promotion? My Monster has already sold 1000 units in the Nook promotion.

    I don't think I made it into the promotion, it was rejected and then approved the next day, but that's it. Did you get an email about being in the promotion?

    @jonmulcahy Nope, they won't tell you if you're in or not. And as far as I know, the only way to check is to own a nook, and look at the store's "featured" lists.

    Well, no nook to check with, but I imagine I did not get in, sales have been very very low on the nook, I emailed my contact over there to see if she can take a look to see if my app rejection caused any problems.

    Hopefully it does well on one of the three devices :)

    FWIW, Owls is live up on the Nook Apps store. I don't see the promotion apps though - not really sure how to navigate to it. Their store is very unpleasant to use, to say the least!

    Your Owls app is safely sandwiched between butterbean's 3 ABC Owl apps! ;)

    Well, @butterbean at least I'm in good company :)
    Sales have been dismal so far. Its tough to see so much hard work not even make a splash.

    Amazon is currently running a promotion where customers who purchase select apps from the Amazon Appstore will receive a $1 credit to spend in the Amazon MP3 Store. Owls just happens to be one of those apps! So, instead of spending $1 on a song, why not spend $1 on Owls and get a song for free? :)

    Hey guys,

    This is an amazing game. You should pick it up, even though it is for kids. It's obvious he put a ton of work into it!

    barnesandnoble is a nightmare ive been accepted as a developer but you cant upload until they have all the necessary tax documentation,no matter what country your from.very lengthy process

    B&N was a pain to setup, but i did it once and now publishing to them is easy, they do it a little backwards and ask for your meta data to be approved before uploading the apk, but it's been good so far.
