Publishing Concern

Hey guys, I've been quite busy as of late with a new job and what-not, so when I logged in today and read up on the update, I came to know that soon, I'll lose the ability to publish with my current mac (mini without the system specs to support Lion most likely). If I didn't have to work...sure...I could probably get my app published within the next 10 days or so before support is dropped. When, exactly, is the cut-off date? However, that's not the case and I'm seeking a solution.

I have a powerhouse windows machine (my gaming rig), but I haven't looked into the windows creator much, so I wanted to get some opinions. Would I be able to easily transfer my project from mac os to the windows creator? It's an iOS application, so I'm skeptical.

If anyone is curious about my mini's system specs, here they are...although being that it's a solo-core, I think it's automatically disqualified from Lion. As much as I'd love to upgrade to a new mac, I don't have the money for that yet...hence this venture into app design to begin with.

Processor: Intel Core Solo
Processor Speed: 1.5 GHz
Memory: 1.5 GB

The only other way I see around this would be to work with the 9.93 version of GS...get the app finished...and then take it to someone's house who has a newer Mac OS...and publish from his machine. Thoughts?

Thanks for any advice!

Have you looked at the required specs for lion? I thought anything that could run snow leopard could run lion

  • Yeah, I looked into them and it asks for 2GB of RAM and a duel core processor.
  • Assuming that I will not be able to finish my app by the time the support for snow leopard drops, do you believe there would be a problem with me using my older version of GS (9.93) on snow leopard and then eventually copying the files to a friend's computer to then publish?
  • What I meant was would there be an issue (I don't so) if he also has a Mac. His is mountain lion on one of the new Mac book pro's. I could just throw GS onto his machine, copy my files to it, and publish...or at least that was my intent.
