do i need a iPad 3 to check how image look for RI?

i will convert a game from iPhone to iPad, right now my actor is 38x38 so my image for iPhone is 76x76 but when testing in my iPad 2 with IR checked my images look blurry, so i made my image instead of 76x76 to 152x152, so i i should have all my image 4x bigger for iPad 3?. so now i have my actor of 38 with a image of 152, when i test in my iPad the images look good now but i don't know if i will get the same results on a iPad 3?thanks.

    You need the New iPad to check it. Images should be twice bigger in resolution, they should be divisible by 4, and give even result. Also DPI should be 72.

    Alright, you do NOT need an iPad 3 to check retina images. All you need to do is these steps:
    1. Run the GS Viewee in the iOS Simulator
    2. Make sure that "iPad (Retina)" is checked under Device > Hardware.
    3. Run your app in the GS View on the simulator.
    4. Make sure your zoomed to 100%. You can go farther if you want.
    5. Go ahead and check you images.

    thats cool i didn't know about that thanks, and so i change half of my images and they look great and the other half they look blurry, so i guess i need the size 4x bigger but i see a huge increment on memory it went from 35mb to 94, especially the "other" part is 75mb, does this means my game will run this slow in the ipad3? i really don't have many pictures, just 24 images of 76x76 and 1 image of 1216x832. or i need to find another way to convert from iPhone to iPad.

    Yes the size increases lot. You can use an image optimizer like imageoptim to het them as small as possible.

    actually doing my way i use smaller images, say my actor is 360x480, so i will use 4x bigger for iPad 3, then i get 1440x1920, but if i where working in a iPad file, my actor will be 768x1024 so double the size for retina is 1536x2048 more bigger than the other one, and also i don't know if we should take those memory number from the iOS simulator very seriously, as i tested a iPhone game with no IR and still it went from 35 to 90mb of memory,why?
